  • Location Information: The App requests access to your device’s location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION). This data is used exclusively to calculate distance, speed, and fuel efficiency in real-time.
  • User Preferences: We store your settings (such as preferred currency, fuel profiles, and distance measures) locally on your device using Android DataStore to personalize your experience.
  • Billing Information: If you purchase a subscription, your payment information is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not store or have access to your credit card numbers or banking details.

1.2 Data We Collect Automatically

The App does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) automatically (e.g., email addresses, phone numbers, or device identifiers) unless explicitly provided by you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To provide accurate fuel and pace calculations based on your location and settings.
  • Personalization: To remember your preferences so you don’t have to re-enter them every time you open the App.
  • Subscription Management: To verify your access to premium features via Google Play.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your data, including preferences and fuel profiles, is stored locally on your device. We do not upload this personal configuration to external servers.
  • Security: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. However, please be aware that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

3.1 Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer

Highway Pace does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or automated decision-making algorithms to process your data. All calculations (fuel efficiency, pace, etc.) are performed using standard deterministic mathematical formulas.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We only share information with the following essential service providers:

  • Google Play Services: Used for location services (Google Play Services Location API) and payment processing (Google Play Billing). These services have their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have the following rights:

  • Access and Portability: Since your data is stored locally, you can view and manage your settings directly within the App.
  • Deletion: You can delete all data associated with the App by clearing the App’s storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
  • Permission Control: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device’s system settings. Note that this may limit some of the App’s core features.

6. Children’s Privacy

Highway Pace is not addressed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete such information from our records.
